“Why do you request a $1,800 Deposit for the Hawaii Yoga Teacher Training?”
The Deposit requested is a payment that is required by accepted students who are prepared to commit to the program. A student who has committed their intention to the program, deserves our commitment in return.
Our Hawaii Yoga Teacher Training program is capped at 16 Students! We feel that packing students into a training is unfair to both the Students & Teachers alike. We want you to have an actual experience, not just become another face in the group.
Our program cap will provide for ample opportunity for all students to build a relationship with the Co-Lead Teachers. It is small enough to ensure an intimate environment and large enough to ensure a dynamic, engaging and holistic experience.

Our Unique Benefits
♥ Yoga Alliance mandates that a teacher training program consists of a minimum of 180 contact hours (in class) and 20 non-contact hours (homework etc). We at Yogacara believe that the minimum 180 contact hours is not enough to provide teachers in training with the essential tools to be successful teachers. Therefore, we provide additional in session hours above and beyond the minimum required.
♥ The locations for our training is a sacred, beautiful & nurturing environment.
♥ Our program classes are kept to a maximum of 16 students, never more. It is unfair to both the teachers & the students to attempt to fill classes with higher numbers as both the intention & quality decrease.
♥ Our program includes Kirtan & Satsang; a wonderful experience of this ancient art.
♥ Our program follows the set guidelines created by Yoga Alliance, plus we offer students the opportunity to learn more than just asana. Our sections of topics include the Chakras, Pranayama and Ayurveda as well as an introduction to the styles of Yin, Restorative and Kundalini Yoga, giving you a truly holistic experience.
♥ Students will have direct access to the 2 Lead Teachers each day of the program, including access outside of the teaching hours. They are there to welcome you with open arms as you need guidance through the program. The Teachers will be accessible after the program via email, as needed.
♥ Our pricing is truly all inclusive. The program cost is the entire program & all of its components (tuition, course materials, accommodation, meals). Airfare & land transport are NOT included.
♥ Payment plan options may be available at no additional cost. We don’t want this to be the hurdle for you, so email us if you need to chat more about a payment plan option!
Our Hawaii Yoga Teacher Training, like all Registered Yoga Teacher Training Schools, are required to maintain a curriculum based on the guidelines issued by Yoga Alliance.
Within these programs is where prospective students will find the differences in how the curriculum is delivered. Our curriculum has an intense focus in Technique Training, which is essential for new teachers. However, our program also offers variety in many areas to ensure authentic, yoga programming (not what is trendy).

Our Teachers involved with the Hawaii Yoga Teacher Training Program include Janet, Alison, Reet & Siobhan. They are completely committed to your success, your experience and helping you to attain living what you love! Remember, at one point they were exactly where you are. Each of our teachers Followed Their Bliss and now, years later, they are here to share in your journey.
When I was 12 years old (a few years back) my Mom signed us up for “mother and daughter” yoga classes over in the school gym. A little later I had my first conscious experience of some kind of ‘oneness’ doing yoga at home with Kareen Zebroff’s TV show (from BC). Kareen’s book “The ABC of Yoga” was always open on our living room floor and we did try every pose from A-Z. (I watched amazed as my kid brother effortlessly hoisted himself into peacock and scorpion… it was life altering.)
In my late twenties I began to meditate and this opened the door of a new world. I discovered Kundalini yoga at an ashram in Montreal and for me, that was turning point. I had a sadhana; my own spiritual practice – a liferaft, a haven.
Years ago, during my Teacher Training with Shakti Mhi, I fell in love with the Yoga scriptures and heard them calling out to me and my guitar for new melodies.
Teaching yoga has been my passion and I have been teaching public classes since 2002. In my most recent years, I have been leading Yoga Teacher Trainings and have successfully taught and graduated new teachers from our 200 Hour Program Yoga Teacher Training. Teaching New Teachers is my absolute passion!
I have since trained in other practices of Yoga, including Yin, Kundalini & Laughter. The sutras keep calling to me, the doors open and the adventure continues. I would be blessed to accompany you on your journey in the essence of Yoga.
Together with my Co-Lead Teacher, I welcome you to join us on your journey and path during our next Hawaii Yoga Teacher Training.
I cannot pinpoint exactly what brought me to yoga, but I know I wanted to feel more relaxed and open and hoped yoga would help me to do that. It did. I had been practising yoga for less than a year when I decided to pursue teacher training, mostly to deepen my practice while on my mat and when out in the real world. I completed my 200 hour certificate right here at Yogacara, and it was the exact kick in the pants start I needed to set foot on my quest for living life more simply and living life with less – less stress, less need to be right, less “stuff”. Do I accomplish this every day? No, but yoga is a constant reminder of how I can. And once I figured out how yoga grounds me and brings me back to NOW, I couldn’t wait to show others.
I LOVE teaching yoga. I love watching students grow and learn and expand, both in body and soul. I love what the students teach me about trust and openness. I love that no matter how tired I am or if life is dragging her heels, the students ALWAYS give me energy and a sense of joy.
As an Anatomy Facilitator of the Hawaii Yoga Teacher Training program, I will help you get down to the basics of muscles and bones, ligaments and tendons, and how to apply this knowledge to the poses of yoga. The subject of anatomy can be overwhelming and is a topic that can be studied for an indefinite amount of time. It is my goal to take away that sense of bewilderment and instead create an excitement to learn more. Knowing even just basic anatomy will help you move forward in your own practice as well as help your students grow and stay safe in theirs.
As a Co-Lead Teacher for Asana (& Anatomy), I will ensure that you are carefully guided through each Asana, in such a way that it may be broken down, clearly taught and modified for a variety of students. No student will leave the training without a full comprehension of teaching Asana and sequencing Asana. We will spend many hours together within this part of the curriculum doing hands on training and inter-teaching within the group.
Yoga has been such a blessing in my life in so many ways, I cannot wait to join you on your own journey of discovering where yoga will lead YOU. The divine spark within me sees and honours the divine spark within you. I invite you to join us in Hawaii.
I has been practicing yoga since I was a young teen. My upbringing consisted of yoga everyday with pranayama and meditation. It was part of my daily life. After so many years of practicing and being passionate about yoga, it was natural for me to take it to the next level and become a yoga teacher.
Formally, I am trained in Pilates (Mat, Standing, Equipment), Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and Pre-Natal Yoga.
My mission now is to share my love for yoga and movement with you, so you will experience the transformative and healing benefits that I have seen in my life. I will guide and support you through your Yoga Teacher Training, making certain that you will have the understandig and confidence to lead others through amazing yoga classes.
My most recent journey into ongoing development has brought me to Bio-Energy Healing which has deepened my understanding of the energy system of human body. I am a certified Bio-Energy Healing practitioner and trainer.
I am also the Lead Teacher of our Mat Pilates Teacher Training Program. My journey with Pilates started over 10 years ago. After taking my first class, I immediately became hooked on Pilates thanks to the benefits I received from the exercises. The connection of the breath to the movement, the focus and the flow – it is similar to yoga, yet it is so different. Pilates gave me a different perspective on the movement of the body.
I would be blessed to have the opportunity to guide you through your Hawaii Yoga Teacher Training!
I believe that there is an opportunity to offer yoga by using mindfulness and modifications to make it available to everyone.
Having practiced yoga for many years, I came to the realization that my life is YOGA, and my yoga practice allows me to connect with body and mind. My firm belief is that the power of yoga brings awareness to self, assists with stress and deepens our knowledge, trust, happiness and love within ourselves and those around us. Yoga is not only a physical practice but a way of life and I continue, even as a Lead Teacher, to further my education and understanding of the teachings of Yoga, and the inspiration and the grace that comes with a regular yoga practice.
As a Co-Lead Teacher of the Hawaii Yoga Teacher Training program, I will dive into all of the parts, beyond asana, that make up a yoga practice. Delving into the chakras, mantras and meditation and learning how to incorporate all of these into your own practice and how to guide and offer your own students their own exploration of these tools. Spending time on the 8 limbs of yoga, we will explore the history and philosophy of yoga and learn how yoga is so much more than just a physical practice and how it really moves and can be incorporated into all aspects of our lives.
During the Asana (& Anatomy), I will assist you in understanding how Asana can be taught to your students, in such a way that makes senses, utilizes language that is understandable to all walks of life, and can be adapted and modified for all students in all types of classes. With a comprehensive exploration of Asana and the corresponding Anatomy, that is both experiential and concrete, I will ensure that no student leaves the training without a full and complete understanding of how this all comes together.
Aside from teaching yoga, I am a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist; encouraging therapy through a combination of classical yoga techniques and elements of contemporary body-mind psychology. Outside of my yogic path I carry on small businesses which include marketing consulting and social media consulting… which is also important as you move into teaching classes of your own.
I welcome you to join our Hawaii Yoga Teacher Training Program… I commit 150% of my efforts to ensuring your experience is exceptional!

The Big Island of Hawaii!
Kipa Aloha, Hawaii! It’s easy to feel awed on Hawaii Island. From the molten magma flowing from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the snow-capped heights of Maunakea; from the green rainforests of the Hamakua Coast to the jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach; Hawaii Island is an unrivaled expression of the power of nature.
To avoid confusion with the name of the entire state, the Island of Hawaii is often called the “Big Island,” and what an appropriate name it is. Nearly twice as big as all of the other Hawaiian Islands combined, its sheer size can be inspiring. You’ll find all but two of the world’s climatic zones within this island’s shores.
The dramatic size and scope of the largest Hawaiian Island create a microcosm of environments and activities. On this island’s vast tableau, you’ll find everything from resorts and incredible golf courses to modest local towns and sacred Hawaiian historical sites, from the birthplace of King Kamehameha I to Hawaii’s first missionary church in Historic Kailua Village (Kailua-Kona). With so much to see, it’s best to experience the island in small pieces. There’s plenty of room on Hawaii Island for your return.
